Outline itinerary (fully customisable to your needs):
Day 1 Coach transfer from Dublin airport to central 3* hotel. Half-day sightseeing tour of Dublin on arrival, with admission to the Irish Whisky Museum - home of much more than just whisky, this is the true history or Irish culture, with exhibits including Irish Wakes, prohibition and illegal drinking houses...as well as some tastings! Everyone will take away a souvenir glass - something to raise a toast to your ancestors with!
Day 2 (B) Your coach will take your across the city to Epic Ireland. Opening recently to rave reviews, the stunning interactive exhibits, tell the story of all aspects of the Irish emigration. To start looking into your own family, visit the Irish Family History Centre, on-site at Epic. Meet a genealogist for a tailored talk before getting to crack on with researching your own family history with the centre's resources. Places are limited, so if not researching, enjoy a complimentary coffee and cake in the CHQ centre. Before heading home, take a tour of the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship for an authentic step into the past.
Day 3 (B, D) After some free time in the morning, transfer to the Dublin Botanical Gardens for a relaxing stroll amongst the 15,000 different species of plant, from all over the world. Afterwards, head to the nearby Glasnevin Cemetery. You'll take in the museum, before a 'Dead Interesting' tour of the graveyard, focusing on the interesting and funny stories of the inhabitants. Meet the head genealogist, who will conduct a presentation of the Glasnevin records and hold a Q and A session. Finally, head back to the centre of Dublin for a farewell dinner, aboard the legendary canal boat restaurant - an unforgettable experience to cap off your tour.
Day 4 (B) Depending on your flight time, you can use the day to epxlore explore Dublin at your own leisure, before taking your family tree research home to follow-up. Your new genealogist friends will have given you plenty of tips, and you may yet have a new family story to tell! Coach transfer to Dublin airport for departure.
